Buff Radio You Can't Get Enough Buff!
Meet Leo, affectionately known around Buff Loft as “The Brazilian.” Leo is the heart and soul of Buff Boy Brewing Co., possessing a beaming, gold-standard smile and a truly infectious joy that makes even Collin’s ego briefly take a backseat.
Leo hails from a small, incredibly rural corner of Brazil—the kind of place where a little rain means the power promptly quits, plunging the village (11 houses) into spontaneous, candlelit relaxation. Moving to the glittering, high-wattage world of West Hollywood with Team Buff has been, shall we say, a moderate-to-severe culture shock.
He’s a whiz with the coffee beans, but when it comes to English? Let’s just say communication is often a thrilling, hilarious game of charades. Leo’s “moderate-to-severe English” means he rarely understands what the team is saying and we rarely understand his perfectly earnest, but often wonderfully garbled, responses. He’s got a heart of pure gold and the best intentions, but his translations usually land somewhere in the vicinity of “Wait, what?”
Despite the linguistic barrier, Leo’s passion for music and life transcends language. He’s the first one to burst into song and dance whenever a great track comes on—even if he has absolutely no idea what the lyrics mean. (Oh, that time at karaoke and Beyonce’s Single Ladies…)
His music vibe is a joyful riot of international beats, vibrant Brazilian tracks and anything with a rhythm that makes you want to spontaneously samba while brewing your morning cup. Think of his musical taste as a super-strong, dark-roast espresso—rich, potent and utterly transporting.
And speaking of pure joy, his true loves in West Hollywood are the boss’s lucky canines, whom he always lovingly refers to as “the dog puppies.” He enjoys his dog-sitting gigs immensely, where he sings to them in Portuguese and practices his English by trying to teach them the difference between a French Press and a Chemex (they don’t get it, but they wag, anyway).
Leo’s current favorite Buff Radio track is Dog Puppy Love. Tune in to our weekend Broadway matinee to hear why!
